Do you make your own motherboard? Do you make and model your sound card because the one mentioned above is an Asus Xonar DGX? What BIOS version do you have right now on your computer? Which version of Windows 11 (edition or otherwise) are you running? Check if there are any pending updates for the BIOS. Then check if your operating system has a pending update. After that, completely uninstall the audio driver from your computer. Reinstall it using an elevated command by right-clicking the installer and choosing Run as Administrator. If you're using an old sound card that doesn't have drivers for Windows 10 or 11, install the driver in compatibility mode: right-click the installer, go to Properties, then click on the Compatibility tab. Change the check box next to "Run this program in the following Windows environment" and pick the version of Windows the original driver was meant for using the drop-down menu below.

I just checked my computer setup and found that everything seems fine for now. The camera and microphone are working well when I use them in simple tasks like watching a movie or talking to someone. But if I open YouTube, the video plays but the sound goes quiet. It's been this way for quite a while without any hardware issues.

This link gives steps to fix audio on Windows 10. I tried following those steps, but nothing worked. The computer I used has been running for four years since it came with the PC. Later, I upgraded to Windows 11 a few months ago. About ten days back, my sound stopped working completely. Yesterday I got an error screen saying something about software settings conflicts, not like hard drive problems. When I checked my hardware and settings, I can't find that conflict listed anywhere. Any help would be great right now. TI

You might want to try checking for new driver updates, updating Windows, or doing a full system restart to go back where things were okay. If that doesn't fix it, you could call Microsoft's help desk. Good luck!

Windows 11 is already current. I turned off the System Restore feature because it only makes things worse. The "offending problem" keeps happening all the time.

I don't need an extra sound card because my computer uses built-in Realtek audio chips instead of one like a SoundBlaster.

The Realtek Audio Driver pops up when you look at Installed Apps and Settings, but it doesn't show up in Sound's Device Manager. I tried three things: I removed it, then restarted my computer, then added it back. Even after restarting again a few times, it still isn't there in the device manager.

Did you try putting your own drivers in, or did you just keep using the official installer?

I first tried Lenovo (IBM)'"s 'Help' button to connect with a tech. They said no good things would come out of it, so I looked for an update to my sound driver. That didn't work either. Even though the driver shows up in 'Installed Apps', when I check Device Manager under 'Sound', only my webcam is listed.

Here is your specific Lenovo laptop model (it's usually found on the bottom of the machine; do not use the serial number).
