Hi,
I just finished my first build, but when I tried to boot and install Windows, none of the fans activated, and that's even more concerning—the cooler isn’t working either! This setup feels too expensive for me to risk, so I powered everything down as soon as the installation was complete.
I’m certain everything is connected correctly:
- The CPU fan for the cooler is wired in a daisy-chain (I can’t go wrong with that only one way).
- The system fans 1 through 5 are set from 1 to 5, and I didn’t use the hub that came with the case.
I’m not sure I could have connected them backwards or upside down, so they probably fit only in one orientation.
The RAM is working (or at least the RGB lights are on), which suggests the motherboard is properly powered and connected.
I wonder if I need to manually turn it on in BIOS or if there’s a threshold I haven’t reached yet.
Definitely, the CPU cooler should always be running—right?
I removed the front cover, and the heat had already built up significantly, even though the case is almost fully open.
Still, I can reach the cooler without any issues.
Honestly, I’m a bit nervous about this system I assembled.
My previous AMD build and my old pre-built i7 (which I used for nearly ten years) always ran smoothly.
Thanks in advance!

have you checked fan settings in the BIOS?
it's possible there is a "silent" or similar setting that is enabled keeping fans from running until a certain temperature range is hit.
and what are you using for motherboard control software within the OS?
there should be settings here for fan control also that should show the fan speed curve and more related information.

I really attempted to register with a fake phone number (why is this required?). Now I have to pause before trying again (or consider another platform if you have suggestions). Apologies for the inconvenience, I’ll retry in about an hour or so.

You don't have to register on that platform.

I don't know much about PCs, but I'm glad I was able to install everything onto the motherboard after some effort. Now it's running well enough to install Windows!
I plan to spend a day or two learning how to use the BIOS before making any changes.
The cooler has a switch for quiet or performance mode, and I've set it to performance.
So far, I haven't installed any software. After installing Windows, I was worried about the cooler/hot GPU setup and ended up shutting down the PC.
That's where I'm standing now.
There is some built-in software with the motherboard that might help me check temperatures and adjust fan speeds manually. Maybe it's a threshold issue, but I'm not sure.
Thanks for your reply!

Open the BIOS and verify that the fans operate in PWM mode. It might be needed to modify fan curves. Alternatively, if the fans are currently in quiet mode, they could begin spinning once a specific temperature is achieved.

Sure, I'll do it tomorrow and let you know if I succeed or not.
