It seems the main concern lies with Pinnacle Ridge or TDP support. The 2700X draws a massive 105W, and HP’s cost-cutting VRM design might fall short. This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed HP restricting CPU performance intentionally.
More chances for e-waste are disappointing. It’s frustrating when you invest in an OEM prebuilt PC and face limited upgrade options or unusable components for future projects. This approach is clearly not sustainable. If you need assistance with the new build, the forums here could be a valuable resource.
It really looks like it only supports APUs, but I'd go out on a limb for a 3600X and cross the fingers. 50% chance it'll post.
