Display problems reported with model 3060.
I've been using this GPU for roughly six months, but it won't display at startup. Even after getting a replacement from Zotac, it still doesn’t function. I need it to work so I can use my computer again. The specs are: CPU Ryzen 5 5600X, motherboard Gigabyte Aorus B550 Elite AX V2 (rev 1.3), GPU Zotac 3060 12GB, RAM Corsair Vengeance 32GB, PSU Corsair 80+ Gold 850W.
I’ve already updated the BIOS and drivers, tried reseating RAM, swapping the battery, resetting CMOS, checking cables, and even disassembling/rebuilding the whole thing.
Let's run some software checks first. Insert the previous GPU and open your device manager. Click the view tab at the top and enable "show hidden devices." Locate your Zotac 3060, it should appear there. Search for its drivers online, making sure to get them directly from the manufacturer’s site. Download and reinstall the appropriate drivers. Remove the GPU from your system and test it within your setup. If nothing works, uninstall the drivers and try again. Sometimes using the built-in drivers inside the card can resolve the issue. If that fails, proceed with hardware testing.
When the PC powers on, observe whether the GPU fans begin spinning. If not, switch your connection to a different HDMI port on the back panel. Test all available ports on the GPU’s back; if no display appears, relocate the GPU to another PCIe slot and repeat the process. It seems there may be additional components on the board. If you still encounter issues, try connecting the GPU to another PC or a friend’s machine. This will help identify whether the problem lies with your graphics card or the motherboard. Based on the outcome of this test, you can better decide what to purchase next.
For future reference, consider opting for a CPU with integrated graphics when buying a new system. This way, you can enjoy visuals without relying solely on a dedicated GPU and reduce strain on your existing graphics card.
Best of luck,

His motherboard only provides one x16 slot, which means this setup won't work. If only a single GPU is connected, then locating the 3060 becomes difficult. Windows doesn’t retain uninstalled devices after another unit replaces them, so the GPU would still display basic drivers from Windows. Otherwise, how would someone install Windows on a new PC? This suggests a hardware problem. OP, has the GPU’s RGB turned on? At least I need to confirm if it’s receiving power and the board is functioning. Have you checked the PCIE power cables? Are you certain the replacement GPU is genuine or was it installed in a way that bypasses warranty? From experience, a warranty claim might just reflect the original owner’s hesitation, so they kept it for return processing.
The graphics card lacks RGB lighting, yet the fans remain stationary. It’s unclear if a replacement was installed or if it was simply fixed. The person I talked to recommended a new part, which makes me think it might be a different model but looks the same. I’d need to verify the serial numbers, though the packaging doesn’t display any details there. Swapping the PCIe cables hasn’t worked on my 1070, so that might not help either.
I thought the Zotac GPUs had lighting labeled with the brand name. Swapping PCIE cables is just to confirm the cable isn't the problem, you never know. To be certain, test the GPU on another PC, or bring it to a service center for a check. I guess I’m assuming the GPU isn’t getting power, so it’s likely a hardware issue.
From what you've mentioned, the GPU seems to be the problem. Unless you can verify that the GPU is functioning correctly, you should stop here. The best way to check is by testing it on another PC or returning it for repair. Since the RMA attempt didn't help, the only remaining choice is to try something else.
