Discussion on Dying Light Effect Performance
Game performance is poorly optimized yet fixable. I experienced frequent frame drops during the initial playthroughs. Adjusting settings and disabling Nvidia features didn’t resolve the issue. Eventually, performance improved noticeably. However, 3D vision remains unresolved.
I believe the game favors AMD cards, and NVIDIA titles seem to be problematic. I’m confident you’re much better than me in this.
This game is super fun! I was frustrated before, but after adjusting the settings and lowering the shadows, it ran smoothly even in tough areas and during battles with the zombies.
It seems the game is quite engaging, especially during nighttime when tension builds up. I've kept all other adjustments at their maximum, but I lowered the shadow and distance settings slightly.
I have a 4690k running at factory turbo (3.9) and a 970 at all factory clocks… occasional minor stutter here and there, but definitely not unplayable. It’s still quite fun so far. I’m curious—where can I actually get a gun? Nighttime is really scary, I turned everything to maximum, including draw distance, and motion blur off.
I have no idea what the creators anticipated when they released Dead Island.
Have you come across titles that depend entirely on the CPU for everything from unit placement to animation timing and shadow placement, handling up to 10,000 units on a map? It’s a 32-bit experience limited to just one core. Dying Light doesn’t fall short in comparison.
