It's no wonder most folks around here are likely PC enthusiasts, especially those into PC esports rather than console games. Sure, CoD runs on PC and the latest installment still draws a fair share of criticism (though many keep playing despite that). With the MLG Atlanta happening soon, who else is tuning in? Any thoughts on what might happen at the event?
Yeah CoD doesn't hit nearly the numbers like csgo or dota2 because its not as big of a global game. That and there is currently a contract with MLG right now that actually restricts the streaming of the events. Full streams are only supposed to be available on the MLG website and a limited stream on Twitch, and yeah, before you say it, I agree, that was a stupid decision since twitch is the most popular streaming platform. The next cod game should be boots on the ground and not have any of the advanced movement systems like wallrunning in last years game and the current one.
After Advanced Warfare, I felt prepared for a fresh cod and didn’t mind BOTG or advanced tactics because AW didn’t support wallrunning. However, post-BO3, I’m eager for another grounded gameplay experience, even though I appreciate competitive IW play since weapon changes can turn casual matches into intense chaos—especially when a single gun can switch seamlessly between assault rifle and full-auto shotguns with just a press. (By the way, I’m talking about the legendary Type 2 version... I really dislike that one!)
I have my take here. I really enjoy MW 1, 2 and 3. Dislike the long intermission times. Always opt for hardcore mode; sometimes the breaks outlast the actual game. Even though I dislike the fact that the MW remaster can only be bought with IW, I still did it because I got a great deal for just $30. But I haven’t downloaded IW and won’t play it again. Next release should be something more grounded or I’ll look for another title like Battlefield 1. I enjoy watching esports, especially Rocket League, and I play it regularly for hours.
Following Black Ops 3 they pushed boundaries too much. Reverting to the past or opting for a straightforward contemporary shooter might be better. What made MW2 and Black Ops successful? No one focuses on space or gadgets.
COD hasnt been a good esport since CoD 2 and CoD 4 promod. the international scene was amazing for those games, both European and North American teams was just amazing. Then they destroyed it but not having a server browser and it got worse from there. Now they added some rocket jump 360 no scope with a helicopter that can drop electronic grenades bullshit.
