I feel like it is marketing at times how can a change in software boost performance massively hopefully it is a big thing but I feel it is hyped up
The main advantage lies in whether it supports SLI/Crossfire Ram Stacking. If it does, I’m eager to add another GTX970. If not, I’ll hold off until the next generation arrives. Besides that, everything looks good with my setup and DX11, which is really reassuring.
Mantle delivered what he promised, though my CPU and graphics card showed poorer results back then. The I5-2500K with the 7850 always performed better in DX11. I had high expectations that it would feel like console gaming on PC—it didn’t quite match. If DX12 lives up to its claims, it’d be great, but I’m keeping my hopes realistic.
Eh, it was never going to be amazing, especially for those of us with good hardware. It's all about dem optimizations, which will primarily affect the low end hardware
The benchmarks demonstrated Mantle improved results. Therefore, DX12 should too.
