Hello guys, I need urgent help because I am in trouble. My computer is almost 2 years old and has worked fine since it was one year old. But recently, something went wrong. Now, when I press the power button, the PC doesn't turn on right away. It makes a clicking noise from the PSU (power supply unit), even though there is electricity going to my USB Hub because the lights are on. It takes 5 to 10 minutes of keeping pressing the button for the computer to finally start up. On one day, I plugged in only three devices into my USB Hub and got a warning that said "over delivery of power happened," which caused things to freeze up. But I never opened my PC so I don't know what's wrong. Then today, Windows told me that it detected some hardware changes, even though I bought the software legally and haven't changed any parts. Can you please help me? I'm really stuck here! Thanks a lot.

What's the model of the PSU? First, that clicking sound makes me think something is tripping its safety switches. It might be overloading. Even if your hardware isn't being hurt right now, you should check to make sure the cables aren't too thick, the metal pins in the connector aren't rubbing against anything hard, and the fans can spin without getting stuck (if they're locked, that's basically a short circuit).

The Cougar GEX 750W power supply is loose and not connected to anything inside the computer. I had taken the PC apart last night, but now I'm really worried because my Windows activation failed.

I don't think just one part needs to be fixed. Look at every wire that gives electricity and make sure the fans are spinning without any bumps or resistance.

All good, I looked at it over the weekend, but why does this weird activation error show up with all that other hardware stuff?

First fix the electricity problem so you don't get lost chasing after it. The issue isn't about turning things on right now. Either your power supply broke or something on your motherboard made the circuit trip and shut down. This is step one. Are you using just the cables that came with that power supply, yeah?

I'm trying everything from what the power supply offers so far, but the fans are spinning fine and there is plenty of space inside. I think the motherboard might not be working right though. It's a guess because I don't have enough money to buy parts or test things out properly.

Okay update, I just checked the drive health on my computer and found something weird. My SSD and my HDD both show a red warning above 500MB/s. What is this supposed to mean?

Is there cash? Not really, but if something is broken, you still need to fix the power problem. Power supplies never work without a reason. All other problems come after this and are probably caused by the electricity issue. Ignore everything else just for now until you fix that part of it. You won't be able to get anything fixed on your machine until the power is in order. If you need to remove the power supply, use only the cables that came with it, or you could break the new computer's parts.

I took out a broken hard drive and now the USB 3 Port Hub light comes back on to show it's getting power. Some lights on the board start going off and flashing red. I believe the motherboard is acting up.
