Hello, I recently changed the thermal paste for both the GPU and CPU in my PC. During the process, something went wrong. When I reassembled everything correctly and turned it on, it shut off immediately. I tried troubleshooting by using only one RAM stick and checking each component individually. I discovered that if the GPU power cables are disconnected (though still connected via PCI), the system will power on. I’m unsure what caused the issue but can’t start the PC with the GPU connected. Any advice or should I replace the parts? Also, if I decide to replace components, does a 650W Gold ASUS power supply fit a 4070 Super?

You're running a 650W system and a 4070 Super What CPU, which should comfortably fit.

You have a Ryzen 5 5700X with 32GB RAM. Here’s some advice for the problem you’re facing. Thanks!

It seems there might have been an issue during the GPU paste change. The 4070 Super works well—consider removing the CMOS battery for five minutes and retrying. A 650W power supply should suffice for your setup.

It was 3070 and there were problems with the power cables, probably time to find a new one.

There could have been an issue during the reapplication. The 4070 produces the same power as the 3070, and your 650s should still work fine.

Disassemble and reinsert the CPU, then connect the HDMI MOMO side, followed by the GPU. If it fails, you may have damaged it—test outside the case first! Always verify before installing inside!

They could remove graphics cards by disconnecting the power cable or unscrewing the mounting screws.

Refers to the HDMI connector located on the side of the motherboard, used for connecting displays or external devices.

Doesn't come with an HDMI port? If yes, just reassemble and keep the cooler connected during installation!
