I experienced a similar problem. I upgraded my wife's PC using an older motherboard, CPU, and RAM, and connected her HDD. I also installed a brand new SSD. The BIOS isn't recognizing either the new drive or the old one. Interestingly, the DVD ROM shows up when the same SATA port and cable are used. The new SSD seems to be completely unrecognized as well. Before trying the new SSD, I assumed the HDD was faulty. Initially, when I booted, it displayed the Windows loading screen and then automatically started from the HDD. However, a blue screen appeared, causing an immediate restart. After that, the motherboard refused to detect any hard drive. Despite this, the DVD ROM still appears. I need to test the drives on another PC, but since both aren't detected, it's unlikely they're broken. Let me know if you have any insights. Thanks.
