as title states, where i live parts are expensive and electricity is terrible.. due to a power surge (had a protector) my desktop did the big "spark" and the electricity company refuses to cover the cost (which is a legal requirement) as far as i know the parts that work is my noctua cooler, fans, MAYBE ssd+hdds but dont have a way to test...basically whole thing is gone. remember when pricing shot up in the us/canada and everyone freaked out? those are my normal prices but kinda worse here.... well anyways i managed to over pay for a temporary laptop a hp pavilion g7 1227dx. ----CPU/apu: AMD A4-3300M ----Ram: 4gb 700mhz ddr3 ----Apu graphics: 6480g, 512mb ram (1600x900) basically worthless in terms of gaming, BUT ive been without a gaming machine since 2018, so i've been playing some bauldurs gate and that's about all it can handle that i found. anyone have suggestions of some games that could possibly run on this thing? to think i could have bought a rtx 2060 for the price i paid for this laptop (gotta love import taxes and a poor economy, south america) prior to moving to south america and what i brought over, was an: ivy bridge 3770k, powercolor 7990, 32gbs of ram, my ssd, and 3 backup hdds for keeping work 3d files (yes, i lost that job too, graph paper didnt cut it). but anyways any game suggestions would be nice, would love to be playing some path of exile (favorite game) but this doesn't even launch the login screen.. so any and all game suggestions are much appreciated.
It's an excellent game that works on any device, including a Raspberry Pi. However, the Raspberry Pi was using Windows 10.
minecraft runs smoothly at 5 fps even on low settings. HL is about 15. stardew valley isn’t too bad either. I’ll check out opentd to see what it’s like. ------------- After watching some YouTube videos, it doesn’t fit my style—city building, transport, tycoons aren’t my thing. Thanks for the advice!
line stabilizer plus ups failed completely. unsure about the status of the PSU at the moment. The CPU showed a scratch on the gold leads, so a replacement motherboard won’t help. The main problem is these tropical storms—think about the thunderstorms in Canada or the US, then imagine them intensified—and people keep climbing poles to steal power from the city. That’s just life now. In Brazil, things don’t lose value; it just keeps going. I bought a really bad laptop for about 1600 R$ (around 300 USD) – an R5 3600, same price except for the motherboard and other parts. With 85% import taxes, it’s a huge deal. I won’t finish this.
