I owned an ups and a line stabilizer, both failed. The EU comment matches this situation here. You can purchase DDR2 PC components at a lower cost than buying new DDR4 parts. People underestimate the value of the time spent acquiring those older components. Not related to PCs, but a 1990s car (a Fiat Palio) is still worth 1-2 thirds of a new one. It’s just how things work in this country. Why do you think my PC performed two years ago and I couldn’t find anything else useful? Honestly, the laptop is nearly useless and overpriced, but it was the only option I could afford. Edit... to avoid repeating myself, it’s 6:30am and my meds are finally starting. If I hadn’t thanked everyone, I’d apologize now. Thank you very much. Edited March 31, 2020 by Bsailor
My experience with import taxes is you don't pay them if your package ends up in parcel machine. Also if seller puts fake low value on the package. Though if there is extra check and package is opened they might estimate the value to be even higher. Don't you have any local stores for used electronics? With 85% tax travelling and shopping in some other country might be worth it.
I generally reduce tax by minimizing listed amounts. It needs to be under fifty dollars plus shipping. If it isn’t paid, the government may seize it and auction it instead of returning it. As I mentioned before, I could purchase a used PC for the cost of a brand-new R5 3600 with 2070, and what I’d receive is a 775 socket machine with. Just how this country operates.
