Yep. Even Windows 10 is linked directly to your motherboard. If you have a working Windows key, it shouldn't be too much of an issue. If you run into trouble, just call them and they'll fix it. It usually takes about 10 minutes.

Checking if a CPU from a similar system would boot with a black-Ed AMD, considering it's unlocked, makes sense. Also, whether a very high TDP could prevent the PC from starting is worth exploring.

If it is genuinely an improvement, it could have been made after your motherboard was launched. In that scenario, your motherboard would require a BIOS update to support booting with that CPU.
If it came out before your motherboard was released, compatibility isn't guaranteed.
In either case, if you decide to keep using that motherboard and install a new CPU, you'll need to update your BIOS to work with the new processor.

There are superior options available in that socket, though I assume it might still function.

The FX 8320E is currently available at around $80 to $129, making it a solid option. It features eight cores with comparable overclocking potential to the FX 8350.

Ensure your BIOS is updated to the latest release prior to installing the new CPU. This is crucial.
