Just to confirm, the AM3+ CPU from the FX series isn't compatible with AM3 motherboards. Also, when searching for FX Series components, the 9590 is a 220W processor and won't fit on most boards—check the supported CPU list.

Some are and some aren't IIRC.
It's definitely not worth upgrading to AMD then.

mm.... should i purchase a new motherboard and then later acquire a better CPU instead of spending money uselessly...........nooooo I JUST HAVE!!! the CPU I currently have (two Athlon ii dual-core 2.7GHz)
