Decide quickly: release now or hold off.
I've been wanting to try this game since I don't have any single-player options available. I usually keep one running at all times. But after its release, many players reported problems, especially the stuttering issue. I'm interested in playing it for $30, but I don't want to endure a long stuttering session. The problem seems to happen often while driving, similar to what you'd experience in Far Cry 3. There are some tweaks available to reduce stutter, though they affect image quality. Recent updates have addressed some issues, but I'm curious if the latest patches have improved performance. The newest beta driver 347.09 might help, but I'm not sure yet. I'm hoping for smooth gameplay and want to know if it's worth waiting a bit longer before deciding.
The stutter was manageable right from the start, especially without bitmaps enabled. At that price, I’d say it’s a good deal.
It functions properly but isn't fully optimized like top titles such as BF4. You can enjoy high settings (low, medium, high, very high, ultra) at 1080p with 45+ fps using an R9 270 card, which means a 780 should work well. There was still some stuttering during the last check while driving, which is really bothersome and hard to fix. I'm not sure if they've made recent improvements to that issue.
It resembles FC 3 in many ways, with slightly upgraded visuals and a new environment. I wouldn’t suggest purchasing it right now, especially since the price is around 30$. I’ve stopped buying Ubisoft releases over $15 lately... Perhaps it’s time to cut back on all purchases altogether.
The 7950 performs exceptionally well, especially when using high settings—it runs smoothly and buttery. I upgraded to the 7970 for ultra performance without sacrificing FPS, and it runs flawlessly on AMD as well. It looks great too. Strongly suggest it!
They seem unlikely to improve it. FC3 keeps stuttering, only slightly worse. It messed up my time with the game, so I won’t repeat the error. Unfortunately, the matchplay feels decent.
it functions well on my system, occasionally slows down intermittently—not just during intense gaming sessions. I haven’t applied any hacks or special updates that others discovered. It was purchased directly from Steam with the official Ubisoft releases, and my friend got it as a free install on his Sandybridge i5 at 4.4 with an EVGA SC 970, installing via Uplay.
I noticed the screenshot was taken without bitmaps and the visual changes were not very clear. Is this a necessary condition for smooth performance? If it works fine, I can overlook that part, though the occasional stuttering would likely annoy me. Are you suggesting I avoid it due to personal experience or what others have shared? Did you personally notice no stuttering on your system? Could this issue be specific to AMD hardware, or are there users with AMD cards who still experience it? I really liked the gameplay in Far Cry 3, so even minor stutters don’t bother me much. So would $30 be considered excessive for this title? I had no problems playing it before; it ran perfectly. I watched a short clip and didn’t see any persistent stuttering that stood out. Stuttering occasionally is fine for me. However, the last time I saw gameplay videos, TotalBiscuit’s content had noticeable stutters almost every minute. If it has improved since then, I’m okay with it. The main concern is the overall opinion from the community—why do you think people dislike it? Is it mainly about Ubisoft, or are there real users who find it problematic? I haven’t won anything, but I’m willing to try.
