Honestly, I'm not certain—it was just my one case. On Christmas morning I'm planning to use a 7970 crossfired with a 7950. If anything slows down, it's because the unequal cards crossfired. I'll let you know as soon as I have an update.

Ubisoft's performance has been quite noticeable lately... I remember when I first started playing it (after the release day 2), it had some stuttering issues. That was enough to be bothersome. Don't worry, though—I'm sure you won't run into any major problems. My setup is almost identical to yours, so you should be able to play without too many trouble. From what I can tell, my graphics settings are at their maximum except for a few things like the sun rays, tree effect, AA with SMAA, high shadows, and I'm using SMAO on AO.
