Dead motherboard for USB over current MSI B450-A pro?
Flashing succeeded and the system booted fine each time. Unfortunately, Windows sometimes attempts to reconnect the device repeatedly. I can't identify the source from Device Manager. After saving a photo of the USB controllers, I'll restart and select "close" next time the prompt appears to see which one disappears.
Reconnected mouse in the same port as before; it functioned well in Windows too. No USB overpower error appeared. Possible explanation: expanded USB ports were interfering, which may take time to resolve. Counter evidence: eUSB not connected during issue, then resolved and reappeared. Edit: Will try connecting eUSB while Windows is active. Notes: intermittent USB icon appears in taskbar periodically, mass storage shows up in device manager. No message from Windows yet. Data can still be read. Disconnecting USB mass storage removed the symptom, but it persists. Removing the outer connector helped temporarily; inner connector stayed off. Setup recording was working initially, then the timer advanced 24 hours. Believe it or not, the motherboard seems to be the problem. I’m unsure if I’ll ever boot again. An express RMA might be necessary. I’m not sure I’ll have a functional machine for three weeks. Consider removing the mouse and checking again.
From the event viewer: The default machine settings don’t allow Local Activation for the COM Server app with the specified CLSID and APPID to the user DESKTOP SID (S-1-5-21-3608245552-4107855062-611356790-1001) from LocalHost via LRPC, running in Microsoft.Windows.ShellExperienceHost_10.0.19041.1320_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy. This permission can be adjusted through the Component Services admin tool. The issue occurred even when both mouse and keyboard were off, and the hub was also disconnected.
