RAM has nearly doubled its cost by about four times since last September...
It means if the price is reasonable and speed isn't essential, it's fine. Otherwise, it's a fairly bad option.
I was curious about my RAM purchase. The identical 64GB DDR5-6000 unit I bought for $208 is now around $929, which is quite a difference. I wouldn’t recommend getting RAM at such steep discounts if you can avoid it. Additionally, I spent $280–$300 on my 4TB 990 models, which are currently on sale for more than $460.
Are they? With something like a GTX 1050, slower RAM probably won’t be an issue. The 4800 CL40 is actually pretty low, but it really depends on the GPU and other components too.
