I note that although the formula exists, it doesn't really apply in practice. The quickest memory operation is tRCD plus tRRDS plus tCL. A real-world approach would consider actual latency factors like memory-to-core delay instead of just memory-to-controller delay. Formulas like these often overlook important variables, making them less useful. DDR4 with proper tuning still offers a slight edge over single-rank DDR5 in dual-rank configurations, but that's not due to the formula itself. Overall, it's a solid choice and offers good value for money. I'd be happy to try it.

Ordering is coming up soon. For pairing, should I go with the non-x model or the x version—something like a 7600 or 7700?

The -X and non-X chips behave almost the same after PBO activation, so I’d choose the more affordable option. The 7700 stands out as a strong choice, but both are reliable picks.

I'm considering the 7700 model. I'm uncertain about compatibility with the Chromax U12A; I should verify whether the bracket is included since it's a new purchase.

It generally matches the same mounting parts as AM4, though the NH-U12A might not have the standard AM5 backplate. If unsure, you can contact Noctua for confirmation.

I'll search online and mark it as found in the installation guides. I've ordered the memory, but I heard non-x versions of 7600 are now £249 and 7700 is £349. I noticed cheaper options for a 7600x at £225, and just before the holidays a 7700x was £317. It seems 7600x could be the better option compared to 7600.

Occasionally it does, there was a timeframe around two weeks when the 5600X was more affordable compared to the 5600, which isn’t unexpected. Just choose the cheaper option.

I've canceled my initial purchase and received the Kingston FURY Beast RGB 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36 DDR5 Memory Kit for £160.

The reduced delay appears promising but the motherboard and CPU must still handle those speeds and settings. DDR5 is still emerging and I’m not sure it’s fully replacing DDR4 just yet; prices are dropping fast. EXPO seems crucial for AMD, while Intel relies on XMP to prevent problems. Kingston is likely the most evaluated among manufacturers on QVL lists. I keep digging through all this information.

I recently received a 2x32GB 6000CL30 module, estimated at 10ns. Also, a DDR4 3600 C16 would offer around 8.89ns.
