I experienced some issues with my CPU after performing certain tasks such as bending a pin and spilling thermal paste. The PC is running but only when using single-channel memory—both RAM sticks placed together in the A slots. The B slots remain non-functional even with one stick, causing a solid orange light. Could this be related to my CPU, motherboard, or perhaps the memory? Both memory units have been tested and are working correctly. (Ryzen 5 3600, Corsair Vengeance LX 3200MHz, ASUS TUF Gaming B550 Wi-Fi)
I tried both setups with a gap in between, but neither worked. (This was before the CPU incident) The orange light indicator continues to show the same result.
I've observed devices that failed to respond when RAM was improperly installed.
The system failed to post despite no changes being made to the RAM initially. It was only posted again after removing a RAM stick from the B channel.
It seems to be about DDR4 issues. You might find the video useful, but often bent pins or faulty memory channels cause the memory not to appear while the system still boots. Inspect the DIMM slots on your board for damage. Updated September 4, 2020 by Mateyyy
