Use the display driver uninstaller to remove all previous drivers. Even if you have NVIDIA ones, they might lead to problems.

The newest Nvidia drivers are quite poor. Nvidia hasn't optimized the 900 series drivers, so you should switch to Pascal. Obtain the pre-Pascal versions.

Set csgo.exe to high priority and exclusive fullscreen mode. This usually boosts FPS significantly.

I could access those drivers directly on the NVIDIA website. The Pascal versions were available as well.
