Hey! The Ryzen 5 8600G seems surprisingly affordable when compared to other AM5 processors. It's not necessarily much better than others in terms of performance. I don’t have time to look up detailed reviews right now.

Half of the L3 cache uses PCIe 4.0 rather than 5.0 (not a major concern), offers fewer PCIe lanes (important since you're restricted to eight, but not crucial for the selected graphics card) and runs slower compared to other options. The main advantage is improved integrated graphics performance.

In general, the "G" in the AMD CPU name indicates "(integrated) graphics".

The G Zen SKUs were initially meant to represent graphics since their desktop CPUs lacked built-in graphics. The naming system stayed consistent after the Zen 4 release, where integrated graphics became standard (F SKUs don't). These processors are called APUs because they're mobile chips adapted for desktop use.

Other two questions:
1) Comparing 2x16GB RAM versus a single 32GB stick—does the dual option offer advantages? Should it be about reliability if one fails or about performance benefits?
2) A 750W power supply seems excessive for my setup. The parts list suggests around 400+ Watts, so a 600–650W unit would likely suffice. Apart from that configuration, I plan to add an SATA-III SSD and HDD.

It's improved thanks to dual channel mode, which lets the memory bus operate at 128-bit instead of 64-bit, doubling the memory bandwidth. Meanwhile, lower wattage power supplies are becoming scarce, often resulting in lower quality or poor value products. If you manage to locate a decent 650W PSU, it would be perfectly acceptable, but finding one that balances good quality and reasonable price for that power level is quite challenging.

The more dependable PSU makers currently are known for, and whether you should pursue an 80+ Gold certification depends on your needs.

It's true that PSU manufacturers offer both excellent and subpar models, making it hard to pinpoint a clear answer. My previous four PSUs were from EVGA and Seasonic, and I’d recommend Seasonic, though their current top models often come with higher prices. The 80+ ratings aren’t always indicative of overall quality, but most high-quality PSUs are gold rated.

Hardware Busters is a popular site for reviewing PSUs:

It’s not an ideal list, but their A and B picks are solid choices:

I've chosen to move forward with an AM5 setup. This plan meets my expectations despite being a bit above the initial EUR 1000 budget. Any feedback or suggestions would be appreciated.
