Hi, I see you're having trouble backing up a PS2 disk in OS X for console games. You mentioned using Disk Utility to create an ISO, which didn’t work with Windows disks but succeeded with your PC. Dameon Tools might be worth checking, though results are mixed. It could be better to use software designed for the PC side of things if you need reliable backup.

Currently, DRM is overly restrictive and isn't functioning properly.

I'm unsure about the regulations in your area, but this is clearly against the law in the UK. It's frustrating when you try to enjoy a movie on your phone only to find out it's not permitted. Even copying music from a CD isn't safe or legal.

I thought it was a good idea since it’s simple to damage a physical disk by mistake. It really adds many more reasons to appreciate PCMR (no fanboy conflicts). Such a waste of time.

People often obtain ISO files by bypassing security measures, such as cracking DRM codes. This involves using tools or software to remove restrictions and create a usable copy of the game.

It's actually permissible, but you need the original version, and if it becomes unusable, you must erase the backup. You're allowed to copy your full game library, but playing them legally means you can't go around the protection systems. Downloading movies is fine, though sharing isn't (people get hurt when they redistribute files via torrents instead of downloading directly).
