You should consider a 1440P monitor if you intend to use DLSS, which is rarely used by most people, particularly gamers like yourself who play first-person shooters.
It's helpful to have these alternatives available in case he needs them for other games. Radeons are usually underperforming in Counter Strike, making lower-end Nvidia cards more competitive. For CS2 5060Ti, it outperforms the Radeon 7700XT in rasterization and is closing the gap with a 7900GRE at 1440p. The RTX 5070 is also faster than the RX 9070 in general. For monitors, I’d recommend a 1440p high-refresh-rate panel in 2025. For CS2 specifically, a 1080p 27" panel with 240Hz is the best choice in my view, as it suits skill-based gameplay where every frame counts. If you play other titles and balance your time, 1440p 27" at 180Hz works well for everyday use. Options like the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ3A (27", IPS, QHD 2560x1440, 180Hz, 1ms) or the cheaper alternative suggested by why_me are also solid choices.
I understand what you're asking about unstable drivers in the context of Dota 2 and CS2. It refers to situations where certain driver settings or updates cause unexpected crashes, especially during long gaming sessions. In your case, the 5090 setup has experienced instability mainly when playing Grim Dawn, leading to crashes after a few hours.
The 5060ti needs updated drivers, which have caused issues so far. Jay shared some videos on the topic, and GN discussed driver problems in a recent clip as well. I'm not sure if they connect to those two titles, but I wouldn't be taking any chances. I'm still using version 566.36 on my 4060 laptop for this reason.
this is blown out of proportions as usual and they are making a bigger deal out of it than it really is
even if there is an issue they will fix it since right now 5060Ti 16gb
is probably the best option in a sub $500 market and many people will be buying it .
i remember same smoke directed at amd many times in the past
while i never had a single issues with my rx 580 or 390x or even further down the line with 270x or 6850 .
and even if there was indeed a bad driver causing issues in some game
i simply installed a different (older) driver
(granted there is no older game ready driver for 5060Ti yet to fall back to
but i´m sure everything will be fixed shortly)
