You're experiencing unusual high CPU activity specifically on core1/CPU1. The issue seems consistent across different activities—games, idle time, browsing—and doesn't resolve even when Task Manager is open. Your system details are accurate: an Intel i5-6400 with Windows 10 Pro 20H2. You've already checked for malware, run a scan, and used System File Checker, but the problem persists. It's possible it's related to background processes, driver conflicts, or a less obvious software interference. Consider monitoring performance in real-time with tools like Resource Monitor or Process Explorer to identify the exact process causing the spike.

It might be an Afterburner issue. Open Performance, then CPU in Task Manager, click on the CPU graph, verify it displays All Logical Processors, and check thread-by-thread monitoring.

Uncertain about whether it's a postburner issue; temperature spikes are also occurring during this event. I’ll update the MSI version and keep you informed.

Hello once more. The issue isn't related to MSI afterburner or AMD CPU utilization trends. Since your CPU shows high usage even when idle, it's likely a hardware or driver problem. Try checking your system settings in Task Manager and ensure no background processes are consuming resources. If the behavior persists, consider updating drivers or testing with another GPU.

You're considering whether a full system scan is effective and if installing the optional Windows Update or running a repair could resolve the issue.

Apologies for the delayed response. I just updated my Windows to the latest version, but it's still using full CPU1. I closed all software from the taskbar to check for background processes, but none are running. A quick scan and a full scan on my SSD (C drive) with Windows Defender offline also didn't help. Some custom scans on another drive were used mainly for downloads, but I found a virus and removed it. However, the issue persists. I tried using Process Hacker to monitor, but still can't identify which AMD driver is causing the problem. It's really challenging to troubleshoot. Thank you for your time. If you have any suggestions to fix this, please let me know. 2021_05.11-00.56_01.mp4

Programs and services I wouldn’t run on my PC include Opera GX AMD user experience. What does AMD external events mean? I’d recommend turning these off temporarily to see if performance improves. Also, confirm whether your device is a laptop or tablet since the mention of "tablet service" suggests it.

Additionally, perform a complete scan of all drives—include a root kit scan using MWB. Right-click on each drive, select MWB, then run the scan (or similar). This process may take several hours per drive, and I’m not sure why it’s so complicated.

It's a desktop setup using a Wacom tablet, and I believe the issue stems from an outdated AMD driver that conflicts with the latest Windows version. The driver kept crashing before, but now it works smoothly. I'm planning to test it for half an hour and mark it as a solution. Thanks! Also, note: it was fine initially, but it's reappearing again now.
