CPU @ 100%
CPU @ 100%
Hi! I discovered that my i7-13700k operates at full capacity recently, which hasn't happened before (probably over a month ago). I noticed it sometimes hits 100% immediately after turning on the PC, especially when running intensive tasks like virus scanning or using heavy 3D software such as Zbrush or Maya, particularly during gaming sessions. So far, this issue appears in games like Cyberpunk, TheFinals and The First Descendant. It's possible it could occur in other titles as well. The CPU usage fluctuates—often staying around 3-4% while idle and rising to 100% during demanding operations, then dropping back to normal during dialogue or cutscenes (real-time rendering too). All graphics drivers are current.
It's the app I'm testing, like in the picture The First Descendant was showing about 90% usage—which is quite odd compared to what I expect for that processor. The same trend shows up with other programs or games we've tried before. I haven't seen such high usage outside of benchmark tests.
It's common for games or heavy tasks to push your CPU or GPU to their limits.
It seems uncertain. It appears to have been performing well just under a month ago, with less than 40% issues in games. This isn't related to one game, but now it seems consistent across most apps (though not all).
I understand, but this pattern is rare across all programs suddenly changing daily
Sure, here are the apps where this behavior was observed. It appears the issue occurs even when all apps are closed.
Occurs briefly after powering up the PC, then appears normal. Happens consistently on Cyberpunk, TheFinals, The First Descendant, scanning with Bitdefender, Halo Infinite, Scorn, Hellblade 1 and possibly others (I'll test them later). Also seen in Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Ghost Recon Wildlands. Usually reaches full performance even in menus, with significant speed boosts when launching most apps until everything loads. Seems to accelerate rapidly once the workload increases slightly.
As shown in the picture, it utilizes every core at full capacity. That's also unusual :!
