Hello everyone, new to PC building and eager to start today after following all the guides and videos available. Everything proceeded smoothly until power-up time arrived. RGB lighting, cooling fans, and GPU fans are active; Deepcool AK620 digital LED is illuminating (though not showing CPU temps); keyboards and mice get power when connected. However, the monitor remains silent. I’ve re-seated RAM, GPU, and CPU, switched to single RAM stick, adjusted channel settings, tried DVI instead of HDMI, and double-checked all cables—including 8-pin and 24-pin motherboard connections—to ensure proper PSU power. Verified both the monitor and two different cable types on another machine worked perfectly. The build includes: PNY RTX 4070 Super 12G OC, AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, Gigabyte B650M Gaming Plus WiFi, 2x16GB 6000mHz Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM, Kingston 1TB NV2 M.2 SSD, 512GB SSD from an old PC (purchased in 2023), Corsair 750W Rm750e 80+ Gold PSU, Deepcool AK620 digital cooler, and Lian Li Liancool III RGB case. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! I’ve spent hours on something I paid a lot for and am exhausted. Thanks ahead!

You're wondering how long you'll have to wait before deciding to shut down the PC again after it doesn't show up. A new Ryzen machine might need up to six minutes to start the first time. Don't stress, we'll find a solution together.

Thanks a lot, it really helps to know. I’m feeling a bit anxious about everything, but I’m okay—just trying not to panic. We didn’t have to wait more than a couple of minutes each time we restarted and still saw nothing on the screen. I’ll give it another shot and update you once I see what happens. Are there any particular signs or changes I should notice after about five or six minutes? Appreciate your help!

Training DDR5 memory on AM5 systems requires patience. Updating the BIOS and adjusting its settings can resolve the issue. Focus on accessing the BIOS first. Allow the PC to restart after a short break—about 6 to 7 minutes—and check if it boots correctly.

Thanks for the help! I’ll try it right away once I’m home. During the CPU reseating, we saw a small scratch in the socket—probably a damaged pin. It wasn’t a big issue and the CPU fit back in fine afterward. Should I be concerned? Thanks again—it really saved the day!

Sounds good. I’ll stay for the next eight hours so feel free to tag me like you do here so I can check the popup. Let’s see if the PC boots after a few minutes and then we’ll move forward. What you observe might not be significant. If there’s a damaged pin, that could be the issue, but let’s wait first. We had a user yesterday or today with a 5-6 minute boot time using an AM5 system—my setup was similar back in September of 2022 when I got my 7700x. Hopefully it will boot soon, just be patient. If nothing happens after 6–7 minutes, we’ll dig deeper.

I just wanted to mention that I set up a 7700x system last week. The first start was about 4 minutes. Most starts finish in under a minute, though sometimes it can be 2 or 3. I’m not sure why it took longer at times, but Edited August 10, 2024 by HiJoeK Spell check

Apologies for the delayed response, but we've kept it open for over 15 minutes with no indication of activity. It seems what we observed yesterday wasn't a bent or broken pin. We're leaning toward the motherboard since it typically has some kind of indicator light, though we can't see any if it should have one. Thanks ahead!

Sure, I can attempt that without the GPU and with HDMI connected to the motherboard. You can also skip the CPU and capture close-up shots from various angles to inspect the socket.

Sure, I attempted this earlier too without success. It’s unclear whether I can take out the CPU for some time, but what I observed yesterday appears to be part of the socket rather than damage. Still, if needed, I’m open to doing it since you’re all the experts here, not me.
