It's nice to hear! I thought it was RGB, but it was mainly because it handled 3600 MT/s and was available locally at Best Buy. That’s what comes with being patient. I’m not rushing into AMD just yet—everything else is working well. Plus, my 5600X keeps running smoothly all day with a decent tower cooler, and I don’t even worry about overheating.
They usually have a nice reputation and are quite popular, but I’m not sure if it’s all positive, since many folks express concerns about their hardware and software. I rarely use Corsair products anymore, although I might consider testing one of their power supplies later.
I acknowledge having their 4000x case, fans, RGB controller, and PSU. The case appears solid, cable management is satisfactory, and airflow is acceptable. I intend to replace the glass front panel with an airflow variant once it becomes available. iCue has significantly improved since its initial release. Fans effectively circulate air without being overly noisy, which is ideal. The only concern would be a PSU failure, though they seem to obtain reliable units from reputable suppliers on the RMx side.
Updated - replaced the g.skill ripjaws kit. 2x16GB 3200C16 RAM now active, DOCP turned on and everything is working smoothly. Long gaming sessions are possible, plus I can run benchmarks and test my GPU. System feels solid now; maybe I’ll try boosting RAM later. For now, it’s good enough. This experience taught me not to buy Corsair memory unless necessary. Any interest in Corsair RAM for Intel builds? Haha!
Unusual. Both my PCs run Ryzen 5000 CPUs with Corsair Vengeance RAM and I’ve never had problems. Maybe I should start replacing them. Really, though. For these systems, I had to adjust BIOS settings like CAS, tRCD, tRP, tRAS manually so they worked. If you're new and unsure, then avoid Corsair RAM.
I also needed to adjust settings when upgrading to my 5600x. Had to configure everything manually. On an older AGESA model it would cap at 3200 with a 3600 kit. After one of the AGESA updates I achieved 3600. @mike_seps That could be worth investigating—are you using the newest BIOS updates for your board?
Interesting details. My setup uses a 3600MT/s C18. That matches what you said. Occasional game freezes and program loading issues happen, along with unexpected shutdowns. All the fun stuff. Edited June 15, 2022 by mike_seps spelling
