It seems to be his problems. I’m ready to jump in immediately and perform without any issues. Right now, the setup is quite minimal, which is why it’s regarded as Alpha.
Currently, Star Citizen is in Pre Alpha stage, which explains some of the problems. The single-player version is expected later this year, followed by the MMO expansion. I think it's worth getting it now—just because it looks great and fun, and you'd be contributing to a project driven by the developer rather than just for profit. Any developer who claims the game won't reach consoles because they can't handle it deserves support. I personally dislike console gaming, so I'm sure someone will react negatively. If I could, I'd grab Star Citizen right away. It's still in development, not an Alpha, but joining now helps with bug reports, testing, and funding the project.
Currently there are just modules available—explore the hangar, battle in your ship, or engage in FPS matches across limited maps. My information might be outdated, which could mean it's still pre-alpha. These are trial modules based on my understanding.
