I've been using ultra settings on CSGO at 1080p with 4x MSAA and consistently achieving over 200 FPS on a 144 Hz display. My monitor supports 9ms response and FreeSync, so I'm not sure if I was doing something wrong. 3kliksphilip's video suggests using 2x MSAA plus FXAA for everyone, but I prefer avoiding FXAA's visual effects. Some objects in the game appear blurry or distorted without anti-aliasing, like the thumbnail's antenna.

You're referring to the OP's situation regarding a 120Hz display. It seems the decision now depends on whether AA batteries are needed, making it less straightforward.

Sure, I understand. It’s noticeable when the frame rate drops below 120 FPS on a 120 Hz display. I’m aware that higher CSGO FPS generally means better performance, but I can see a scenario where using my own AWP without AA would temporarily hide an opponent. When they start peeking, the wall edges around him would shift color, signaling movement. Without AA, those color changes wouldn’t happen until the character moves enough to alter adjacent pixels. This could also affect crosshair positioning, though I’m not very precise with it.

I rely on AA whenever possible. Even with my 27" 4K screen that boasts a high pixel density, I notice jaggies in many games when AA is turned off. However, if it's impacting performance too much, I'd prefer to disable it and run at your monitor's refresh rate instead.
