I’m planning to upgrade the processor soon, probably within the next year. This setup is just for testing now; I’m getting tired of waiting each year to build a PC, especially since Bitcoin’s price is rising again. I only managed to get my GPU before it ran out of stock here. Upgrading sounds like a good idea, so I’m searching for a motherboard in this range and one that’s future-proof. Yes, the 11th Gen chips should use the LGA 1200 socket, correct?
For upgrading to a next-generation faster 10th gen chipset, a Z490 motherboard is a solid choice for overclocking and high-speed RAM. Look for models that also promise PCIE4 compatibility. The 11th gen Intel processors are only compatible with Z490 boards. Check the article for more details: https://www.anandtech.com/show/16390/int...-coming-q1
My wallet seems uneasy about this update... Still, thank you for the clarity! Because I can't afford the Z490 yet, maybe a more affordable motherboard would be a better choice for future upgrades.
