I am buying an operating system for a new rig that I built. I want a physical copy for installing it. Should I buy a Win * copy and just upgrade to Win 10 then do a fresh Win 10 install or should I just buy a Win 10 copy. Is there a down side to buying a Win 8 copy. I can buy a Win 8 copy today in a stores, opposed to waiting for a Win 10 copy in the mail.

The drawback is that achieving a polished setup requires upgrading from Windows 8 to 10, followed by reinstalling Windows 10 as a fresh installation, which essentially means purchasing Windows 10 outright.

Is this an actual question? Windows 10 is fine. Get it? Because chicken is good. I'm smart.

avoid any risks by purchasing the most affordable version of Windows 7 or 8 available. then upgrade as needed. you’ll receive a valid Windows 10 key, just like if you bought it directly. you can even revert to an older version if issues arise. handy advice: if your old PC or laptop is faulty or doesn’t require Windows, use the existing key and install via USB drive. this method is completely legal and free.
