The main issue today is driver management. Many companies rushed to release Win10 drivers at the last possible moment, not during beta testing. If you tolerate occasional visual glitches... you might experience reduced battery efficiency because some hardware fails to conserve power, or even sleep problems altogether, and possibly miss out on optimal gaming performance. In return for exploring the OS, proceed with caution. When upgrading, remove all installed security programs—including AV, anti-malware, and firewalls (Microsoft Security Essentials is essential if you're still using Windows 7)—then reinstall them. Microsoft advises this step. Also, ensure every driver is updated prior to beginning the process, and verify that Device Manager displays no errors. If you have an Nvidia GPU, avoid installing GeForce Experience or 3D Vision and opt for a clean installation in the Advanced setup settings. Should you have used a registry cleaner or previously had malware, perform a full upgrade for a fresh start. For the best results, wait until all relevant manufacturers have released updated drivers. Most companies prioritize new features but often do so hastily.

I recommend proceeding. I installed Windows 10 a few hours after launch and encountered no problems at all. It felt like the most seamless transition I've ever had. The experience was completely smooth.
