So i currently have windows 7 installed on my pc and by hearing the news about windows 10 i was thinking of upgrading. but is it worth upgrading right now? will i get a boost in fps in games or a boost in launching to the desktop from an off state? will i encounter any issues, or find any missing features that windows 7 has? and how long will i be able to use it before windows wants me to drop 90$ or more on the OS? If you want to me to upgrade tell me why i should and same with not upgrading. Also any other information that you think i need to know will be vary helpful. Thanks!

Consider upgrading once Windows 10 is released. It’s currently just a technical preview and isn’t fully stable yet.

I use Windows 10 and it keeps crashing during games at least once a week. It worked well for hours before suddenly failing. I haven’t experienced this much often, but it’s definitely not ideal for smooth performance.

Don’t move to the technical preview. There are too many issues and bugs that made my enthusiasm for Windows 10 fade. Keep waiting until the official release—you won’t see any performance gains since no games support DX 12 yet. Windows 10 remains free forever if you upgrade within a year of its launch.

Yes, you can revert to Windows 7 after an upgrade without a complete reinstall.
