Checking these specs, I prefer the RGB of the XPG and it's a bit more affordable. The XPG runs at 3200 MHz and can be overclocked to 3600 MHz. For Corsair, you can use a 3600 MHz CL16, though Hynix C Dies are used in the XPG and Hynix M Dies in the Corsair. Prices are similar between the two models.

The 3200mhz CL16 and 3600mhz CL18 models are identical in terms of performance, the slight delay in the higher frequency version negates any speed advantage. RAM can be boosted and latency minimized, allowing you to choose a more affordable kit with RGB options, adjusting it to 3600 while keeping the base speed at 3200 or even lowering it slightly to 3600 or 3600-14. This outcome hinges on your VRM setup and luck with the cooling solution. I’d be willing to take the risk because it’s cheaper, and if it fails, the performance gap disappears—saving money. EDIT: I wouldn’t suggest cutting latency and increasing clock speed right away, as that could damage your RAM. But it’s doable; maybe opt for the lower cost RAM and keep the 3200mhz setting while maintaining the desired latency. Which means better value for less money. EDIT 2: If you’re using Intel, ensure your board is a Z-series to preserve warranty coverage, since this concern remains unresolved.

Assume the RAM won’t be overclocked, since it’s unlikely to happen. If performance matters more, opt for quicker RAM instead of just looking better.

You can technically push it faster by overclocking yourself, though we’re unsure how much further you can go or what timing settings are safe. The best approach is to experiment and test. We’re not certain unless you try it yourself.

both are crucial, the 3600c18 offers a slight edge thanks to fclk ram scaling. there are many other improved options available, though.
