Looking at 3600mhz cl18, it’s about three dollars more. I’m choosing the 3600 CL18 and hoping for a CL16 version.

I can only choose the first two from this list in my country. RGB rams are very costly there, but it's worth it. The initial two GSKill rams cost about 80 dollars.

It looks like you're considering Hynix MFR or a similar setup. I'd recommend a 3600 cl16 or a 3200 cl16/14 kit. As for overclocking, I agree — it's worth trying. ^.

CJR actually hit 4666 MHz with a Cl18 that's impressive—3200 Cl16 and 3600 Cl18 kits only differ by about five dollars. That means the jump from 3200 to 3600 isn’t huge, so it makes more sense not to chase such big price differences.
