You have $700 and an LG 1700 socket. Your current build is complete, but games keep crashing. You suspect the GPU or CPU is the issue. Your 3070 and 13700 are running fine, but the Radeon 6950X stopped working after a few crashes. You tried disabling hyperthreading with Power Lasso, which helped. You’re leaning toward the CPU being the problem, but not sure which part to replace first. For upgrades, you’re considering an i9-13900 or ASUS 4070 after checking benchmarks. What do you think?

Do you wish to have your issue resolved or upgrade your system? If resolution is your goal, begin the return process. For an upgrade, prioritize replacing the CPU first, as it appears to be the source of your concerns. It’s also important to verify all components have been tested thoroughly, since it can be frustrating to discover the motherboard was the real culprit after spending hundreds of dollars.

I’m sure fixing the issue is the main goal, which is why I’m considering buying new parts. I kept the explanation short but confirmed everything was thoroughly checked. I’ve shared updates on multiple forums and Reddit threads about my problem, but unfortunately it remains unsolved. Over the past two weeks I’ve swapped out all components except the CPU. As mentioned, switching the GPU resolved some issues but introduced others, so it might be related to the GPU. Intel doesn’t cover warranties for XMP speeds exceeding the CPU’s specifications—while my CPU ran at 6000, the GPU was limited to 13700. That means an RMA wouldn’t be feasible. I could return the GPU, but at that stage I’d likely opt for a replacement instead. Please share your thoughts on handling this hardware decision.

Edit: My focus seems to be on the CPU since I was dealing with RAM problems; it wasn’t my RAM or DIMM slots, so I suspected a faulty memory controller. Disabling hyperthreading in games also helped reduce crashes even with the 3070 chip installed.

They would see the evidence in the logs or confirmation from the system records.

I also had the same inquiry, but it seems this idea is recognized and can be found in the fine print. They evaluate it when you return it supposedly.

I don't have that information. Could you provide the specifications or let me know where I can find it?

Check if you have both GeForce Experience and AMD Software Adrenaline installed. If yes, remove the one you don’t need. Remember, 'Hybrid Graphic' didn’t succeed long ago for good reasons.

Trust me I dont need problem solving. I have done everything possible. I've used DDU in safe mode with no ethernet in the past week more times than I can count. If it is drivers there is nothing to be done. I mean fresh installs of windows 11 downgrading to Win 10, multiple, I mean multiple different driver versions, It couldn't be solved. edit: No i never had both drivers installed at the same time. I tried multiple adrenaline versions and pro version, pro version reduced the rate of green/black screen but it was still very intrusive and downright unplayable. But trying to play games right now, It seems like the process lasso fix doesn't fix all games. I just had a crashin for honor.

Sorry I overlooked that detail. If I were you, I’d opt for the i9-13900 first. On the Intel side, there’s no alternative upgrade without a new motherboard, especially since most likely they’ll shift to a different socket for the 14th Gen. For GPUs, the 3070 remains solid, but moving to the 4070 isn’t a major leap unless you need ray tracing or frame generation. Also, the 4070 sales are struggling due to poor pricing. Until NVIDIA fixes their pricing strategy, it’s best not to rush into the 4000 series. If you’re upgrading to i9-13900, make sure to pair it with a good CPU cooler—either an AIO with 140mm or a dual-tower setup would be ideal. It’s risky to rely on the i9 CPU without proper cooling, especially under load.
