He’s really eager to get his PC built, but the RAM costs are skyrocketing. Should I buy them right away or hold off? I’m worried the prices might keep rising.

It will likely take several months for prices to stabilize, maybe a year or more. I’d purchase now before things get worse since GPU costs are expected to rise.

The DDR5 costs are likely to stay steady or rise further by the end of next year, according to recent reports.

Sure, you're likely thinking about a couple of years ahead, and I wouldn't expect prices to go back to their old levels.

Perhaps, but after the DDR4 shortage cleared, prices fell sharply

It was also due to the arrival of DDR5, which caused demand to decrease naturally

Consider second-hand RAM options, as you might still find DDR5 available right now.

Believe it or not, prices should drop over the next few months. I’m planning to buy a new PC for around $500 less than before. I want to upgrade from 32GB with 5200MHz to 64GB at 6400MHz or even 6800MHz. I don’t think I’ll pay between $500 and $750 for that RAM. Just a year ago, the same kit was about $240 to $310.
