Consider purchasing a Ryzen 2700 or 3600 for gaming and streaming.
Checking out a new setup, I’m moving from my old FX 8320. I need a processor that runs smoothly while streaming, gaming, and doing edits. Right now I have an Asus Dual 1060 with 6GB RAM. Comparing the Ryzen 2700 and 3600 makes sense for balancing performance and budget. Also, I’m curious if they’ll fit on a more affordable B450 motherboard. Let me know!
The choice between the two depends on which has more cores, affecting gaming and streaming performance. A good quality B450 board pairs well with a 3600 processor.
For the B450 board, consider updating its BIOS to support the 3600 chip, which may need an AM4 socket like those found in 1000 or 2000 series Ryzen-based Athlon systems. If purchasing the chip, fill out the AMD form so they can send you a CPU for your BIOS update. Choosing the Ryzen 2700 path won’t require any BIOS changes.
Sure, happy to share my thoughts. What do you think about the top choices for streaming and gaming?
For seamless gaming and streaming at 3900x, you'll need something like an 2080TI or capture card. The extra cores on 3900x are ideal for streaming. If you must pick one, go with 3600 instead.
Currently, NVENC on most modern RTX graphics cards provides both performance and quality for gaming and streaming independently of the CPU.
It's also incorrect. NVENC requires a 20-30% buffer for OBS to handle 720p60 at 60 frames per second. For example, I achieve around 150 FPS in PubG but must cap it at 100 to prevent OBS from becoming overwhelmed. This issue stems from the GPU not providing sufficient headroom.
Rainbow Six victory or what are you watching? Examine your GPU's encoder settings to ensure compatibility. For gaming options: the 3600 offers the most recent upgrades, while the 3700 could perform even better if you can afford it. A more affordable B450 isn't worth it—opt for models priced at 100€ or higher for better value.
