I was just tuning into around three hours of the Bullzoids channel, really pushing the overclocking, matching your approach and thinking about upgrading. I grasped the fundamentals, but I’m struggling to pick the right motherboard model. I narrowed it down to two manufacturers and two or three specific models, focusing on overall build quality rather than individual features. I don’t need many advanced specs—just a few USB ports, LAN, and Wi-Fi capabilities. Some boards need a lot of USB connections, which can be tough to source since they’d require two USB ports for webcams, a mouse, a keyboard, a printer, and an external HDD slot.

It's not worth the investment unless you're aiming for higher resolutions or just want to be a passionate player or OC. The best setup is what suits you. My 8700K at 5GHz will beat the 3600 in games, and Intel's 9700K or 9900K will match it—just slightly. Faster isn't always better, but it does its job well. You need to figure out what matters most to you. To be honest, if I were building a machine for others... I'd go with the 3600.

He’s still running on a 4670K, so it should handle pure gaming fine. For tasks needing multiple threads, aim for over 3600.

Okay so another one for the 3600. I think if I do, it'll probably be that. So many people have recommended that CPU to me now!

It's the top choice for most uses and offers decent performance without being too powerful for most people.

First, the CPU performs well. Upgrading the GPU would be a bigger priority for you!
