Do you have proof of purchase to swap your motherboard? The BIOS might have malfunctioned somehow. It seems the BIOS or the power supply is the issue. When you receive payment later, be cautious next time—avoid Hewlett Packard. For gaming, HP is one of the least reliable brands for buying computers. They don’t even maintain BIOS updates, which raises serious concerns. My old PC was made by HP, and the last BIOS update came seven years ago. HP should be banned from making and selling computers altogether. It would be better to focus on other areas like printers, where they perform much worse.
If that's true then you likely had a fortunate encounter with DDR4. I began removing memory from DDR4 systems and replaced them entirely with what was necessary or desired since most other DDR4 setups struggled to accept it, regardless of the modules used. Every DDR3 system I've added memory to has worked perfectly, even with varying sizes, speeds, and brands. I've discussed this with several tech community members who shared similar experiences.
