I own an HP Omen 880-010 with the original motherboard, 8GB RAM, GTX 1060, Ryzen 5 1400, and the standard power supply. After adding mods on KSP, I realized I needed more RAM. The specs said 2666 MHz and XMP was enabled in BIOS, so I installed an 8GB HyperX stick that matched those requirements—it worked initially. However, during the next boot it failed to recognize the code 3-2, suggesting a memory problem. I removed the new stick and still faced the same issue. As long as you didn’t just reset the system with a jumper, removing the battery and letting it rest should be fine. A third stick could help determine if any components are faulty. Mixing DDR4 RAM isn’t always reliable, even with a perfect match. It’s usually best to purchase RAM in the exact size and speed you need from a kit that’s guaranteed to work and tested by the maker. If the new RAM uses an updated XMP profile, it might still function, but be sure to unplug the computer, remove the existing RAM and CMOS battery, hold the power button for 30 seconds, then let it rest for 10–15 minutes.
