I've been using a TV with my PC for a while now and I've been having nothing but problems with doing so. With random screen flickering and sometimes even going completely blank and coming back on. When it does flicker you'll see a distortion or what look to be artifacting during the flickering. My GPU is a 7900XT with my TV being a Samsung SC90 and HDMI cable is 2.1 as well. My GPU drivers are up to date as well. I have tried different cables and the problem still persists. Sometimes during the flickering the audio would cut out as well but this is very rare.

I don't have this problem with other displays or connections. It seems to be specific to your setup. Side note: I experienced a different issue—audio drops on an older AMD card, which resolved after replacing the GPU.

I don't have a different screen. I switched the TV port once, but it didn't change much. The GPU only has one HDMI port and several DP inputs. I also don't have another GPU.

Is the GPU covered under warranty? I’d probably go ahead and request a return if needed. They’ll likely suggest you check another display or the connection port, but if you have no alternatives, they might allow an RMA.

Maybe... But if I were to do that, I’d lose my system, which is the only thing keeping me entertained. I rely on it for everything.

I understand you'd prefer handling the troubleshooting steps yourself. It's likely they can resolve the problem without needing to return the GPU. The only suggestions I have are lowering the GPU speed and VRAM settings, though this will reduce performance. If they confirm a hardware issue, you might request an advanced replacement with a pre-arranged shipment. They usually charge a deposit for that, but it's worth inquiring since we're not currently facing the same supply issues.

My GPU is a PowerColor, and I wasn't aware they offered such options. It seems companies can do that now. Also, the cables I use don't fit tightly in the port—they can move a bit. I'm unsure if this is causing any issues, and I haven't explored other support solutions yet. Thank you for your responses and advice.

If it's loose, you should be able to activate the problems (assuming that's the cause). Try having one person gently move it and observe if they can consistently reproduce the issues while doing so. It might be tricky to determine whether the person's movement caused it or if the problem is already present, so repeat the process several times to confirm the loose connection. Based on previous experiences, I suspect this isn't the main issue, but it could be worth trying. Also, with your PowerColor GPU, you might want to contact Ronak on Reddit (u/PowerColorRonak) – they could provide insight into RMA options.

i experienced a similar issue, unsure if it would assist but i had used a lg 42-inch monitor for several years until it stopped. i replaced it with a lg 48-inch ultra gear, and it functioned properly until it briefly shut off and then restarted. during the flickering, i noticed some display artifacts, which i suspected were related to a 1.4 refresh rate issue. i realized the problem was resolved when i lowered the refresh rate to 60, which was the default setting. now i’m considering purchasing an hdmi 2.1 cable, as i thought the one i used might not be compatible. perhaps trying a different refresh rate could help. hopefully this will resolve the issue, and it seems the problem might be related to the cable type.

I attempted that but didn't reach 60. I dropped from 144 to 120. I don't want to revert back to 60... it feels too slow after hitting 120+. Anyway, it hasn't happened to me lately (hope it's lucky) and everything seems okay. It's frustrating to hear that DP can also face this issue. I ordered a DP to HDMI cable to test, and most things worked until one problem: Dolby Atmos didn't function as advertised. Now this would be a minor or nonexistent issue for many, but not for me. So I sent it back. I was expecting DP to outperform HDMI significantly and that my HDMI troubles would disappear with DP, but it turns out they can match HDMI problems. This is disappointing.
