I considered covering the component with electrical tape to check for recognition. It could be a short circuit, requiring a non-conductive layer between the pins and nearby parts.

As long as the pins remain straight, it seems the device should function. It appears to be a simple plastic component. Is the battery still in good condition?

Check the battery closely. Observe the plus and minus signs on it. It seems to have four black wires on the right and four red wires on the left. Someone can help you test it.

New AC adapter and fresh battery installed. Nothing seems to work. At the damaged plug, I’m measuring 14.11V between the + and - terminals. The adapter claims 19.5V, while the battery reads 11V.
