Farmed for over a year now. Gratz! Hardcore raiders craft strategies on the PTR ahead of time. Until you've seen this, you don't grasp what hardcore raiding really entails. No one bothers if you spend more than 40 hours weekly. The truth is, you're just watching kill videos or reading about strategies before even facing a boss for the first time. Suggesting vanilla was tough? That's priceless... The toughest challenge was assembling 40 players. Most encounters then lacked any mechanics. NT though. Edited October 7, 2014 by eLucid
Perhaps "Very Hardcore" wasn't the right choice. I acknowledge there are several guilds in the game that raid more frequently than me. My goal was to convey that I approach raids with a serious mindset, while still playing Beta and PTR to see steady improvement. I don’t want my FPS to slow down the process. Even though I raid three nights a week, my team has managed to climb into the top 100 on our server—though not exceptionally high. For this update, I resumed after a break, so my gains aren’t remarkable. Still, I usually try to finish the instance heroically before the raid is nerfed, but group support often causes issues (like small teams breaking apart). Sorry if that wasn’t what you meant, but reaching what I described helps my guild reach around the 200 rank in the US, which I think is a decent semi-professional level—some companies even sponsor players to hit that mark.
I won't complain about your raid durations being considered easy—I probably play the same amount. However, your setup is pretty close to mine except for the CPU cooler (maybe) and an extra graphics card. I’d suggest turning off the second GPU and see what happens; if I reach 40fps in capitals, your server might be doing better. It could also be CPU throttling, though that seems unlikely.
