Compatibility inquiry about RAM/CPU (will it function with this, etc.)
@Eigenvektor Due to my lack of reading so a bit of a embarrasing first post & I have answerd my question now the ram I was looking at says it is plug & play at 4800 MT/s it just goes up to 6000 MT/s says this on Amazon & the official Kingston Site so it should work fine I didn't see the plug & play part
It's inefficient to purchase memory capable of up to 6000 MT/s and then operate it at its standard rate of 4800 MT/s. If XMP isn't a priority, consider saving costs by opting for a slower solution. You don't have to avoid it entirely—most systems will function properly once XMP is activated in the BIOS. If it fails, you can either stick to its JEDEC speed of 4800 MT/s or attempt a lower XMP profile or manual overclock.
Varies by manufacturer. By default, RAM operates at JEDEC standards, which can range widely—from 4000 to 6400 MT/s. Yet JEDEC ratings often include extra latency. For typical products labeled at 6000 MT/s, XMP must be activated to achieve better performance. Without it, speeds drop to around 4800 MT/s or whatever JEDEC rate the maker chose. Always verify if the claimed speed refers to the standard behavior or the XMP-enabled version.
Using that motherboard could allow you to run the Kingston Fury at 6000mt/s. However, you'll likely need to adjust the settings more frequently.
