Comparison of 7800X3D and 14700K models
Hey everyone, I'm deciding which upgrade to go for. I play a lot and do some CAD work too. Comparing the 7800X3D and the i7 14700K, I'm leaning toward the 7800X3D since its CAD performance wasn't impressive. I've been using Intel builds before and usually pick them, but I'm still unsure. If anyone has tips or thoughts on either option, I'd really value it!
Check how the 7800X3D compares to your current CPU. It performs better, so you'll enjoy the results!
I'll note that if your project runs on a GPU, the processor selection might be less important and he could opt for a gaming CPU.
For a rig heavily used in production jobs you'd typically receive a 14700K or a 7900X/7950X
They're focusing on higher resolutions, aiming for at least 1080p and preferably 1440p. I get it, but if you're investing in these CPUs, a better monitor would be worth considering. This kind of comparison right now doesn't seem very helpful. The 7800x3D is a strong gaming CPU, it's the top choice. If you're doing CAD work, you might need something more powerful—maybe around 14700k—but that depends on testing.
Didn't think it was 720p, but it's okay if you're in Alaska. "A BIT" would help with three times the power. WTF!
I favor AMD but for your situation most people seem to agree on choosing the i7. Just grab the i7 and use it, ensuring it works with your motherboard.
