I mostly used my 7950x3D without CCD1 in the UEFI settings. It’s set under the AMD Overclocking menu, where you adjust the second CCD to 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0. Otherwise, spillover issues may appear, leading to latency spikes when a game exceeds 8c/16t on CCD0. If you haven’t installed the chipset driver that sets up the 3D v-cache optimizer, do so. Ensure the CPPC cache is enabled in the UEFI under 'Auto' (default setting). If you’re not familiar with any of this, I suggest checking Techpowerup’s 7950x3D review or watching some YouTube guides on its setup.
This review highlights how the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D combines gaming performance with productivity features. It notes the use of CCD0 for gaming while offering an additional 8C/16T option for tasks like multitasking.
I just checked some benchmarks and don’t think the CPU is the main issue. It might just be related to MHwilds, but for better performance, a GPU would be a much stronger upgrade. A RTX 3090 should handle 50-60 FPS at native high settings with about 30% usage on a 12900k.
