Just checking if this move adds value in the game. It could definitely count as a meaningful upgrade.

Essentially, people mainly rely on YouTube reviews for guidance. Performance improves by around 15%-20%, but is it necessary?

at 1080p you can see some performance but you are more GPU limited unless you have a 4090 or 5090. At 1440p njaah and at 4k you won't see much if any improvement.

Game is set for 1080, but I expect it to move up to 1440 soon—probably won’t change my mind.

You likely have a solid GPU for a 7950x3d setup, but consider whether performance improvements are necessary. Differences exist between 1080p, 1440p, and 4K resolutions, though the gap is relatively small. Upgrading should only be done if your system struggles to run games at desired settings.

The 3090 works well for most games, but experiences stuttering in MHwilds and occasional issues elsewhere.

If you don't feel the need for the extra multicore, turn off the second CCD in the UEFI. This upgrade isn't worth it after moving from 5800x3D to 7950x3D and then to 9800x3D. Only consider it if you want more overclocking options, but it's not a practical improvement.

I'll review its performance in hypothetical games and get back to you.
