Comparing the Ryzen 3 3300X and 3100 models.
I'm just starting out building a PC and have been looking for the right components. Recently, I learned about AMD releasing two new chips that offer a big performance increase over the 3200G I was planning to use. Since those new cores won't come with built-in graphics, I was thinking about getting a dedicated graphics card anyway. This machine will probably handle light gaming, 3D modeling in Fusion 360, and everyday tasks. Either processor will be a major upgrade from my old Acer laptop—a 7-year-old that barely runs Minecraft at over 30 FPS. Upgrading has been on my mind for a while now. Any advice from the community would be really helpful.
Anyway, 3300x and 3100 are available on zen2, while 3200g works on zen+. That explains the differences in CPU performance—3300x is clearly the top choice, but going up to 3600 would be even better.
